Abstract

Human trafficking is a crime against humanity that increases currently in Indonesia. This is due to the effect of globalization – the flow of trade becomes diverse. Online prostitution using online media such as Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo, line, BBM, Whats up, Instagram, Path, etc is easier to be run and can be accessed publicly. Yogjakarta Police Department in solving this problem has obstacles: limited budget for investigation, lack of cooperation among institutions, lack of the role of society, and unawareness of people. Yogjakarta Police Department always takes preventive treatment to handle this case. The preventive treatments are building relationship with other institutions, disseminating to society especially schools in reducing the number of human trafficking crimes.
