Abstract

As a public organization, a challenge Polda DIY is have to improve a service performance toward the available resource also, it maintains the good reputation and existence. Polda DIY have to guard the good name of the area, because Yogja is city of abroad and inside country tourism. so Polda DIY have to maintance criminalizm by the finger print only. the purpose is to study the function of finger print identification in criminal investigation againts theft in Yogyakarta. The research sample is investigator of Polda DIY. The method of the data use survey method by personal or face to face inte interviews the research sample. The result show that finger print has influence toward identification in criminal investigation againts theft at Yogyakarta. Finger print evidence which has the power to reveal evidence of a crime, especially theft the lack of public awareness of the importance of taking finger print to be one obstacle to investigators.
