Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze and determine about the use of restorative justice method in the misdemeanor settlement by Yogyakarta police department. The method of restorative justice that will be using to settle the misdemeanor that occurred in Yogyakarta police department is by giving a chance to suspect to take the initiative to using restorative justice for case settlement. Therefore, initiative to using restorative justice are comes from the suspect not by police department also victim. If the suspect decided to use restorative justice then police department will arrange a meeting between the suspect or victim, in this case can be representative by their own family. After that they do the discussion in order to obtain a deal for settle the misdemeanor. If the deal was made by each parties, the suspect must be fulfill the obligation accompanied by making affidavit by suspect.
