Abstract

Before the enactment of Government Regulation number 78 of 2010 about reclamation and post mining, there are several mining business license/special mining business license holders in the city of Samarinda that do not do the reclamation and post mining activities because they have been depositing money guarantee to replace their obligation to do the reclamation and post mining. As the result, there are many former mining holes left without any further processing. The purpose of this research is to know how the implementation of reclamation and post mining activities in Samarinda after the enactment of Government Regulation number 78 of 2010. Based upon the research conducted on PT. Batuah Energi Prima, PT. Karya Putera Borneo dan PT. Komunitas Bangun Bersama, it could be concluded that the reclamation activities in Samarinda have been implemented in accordance with Government Regulation number 78 of 2010, although there are still some obstacles. Meanwhile, the post mining activities have not been implemented yet, because they are still doing their mining activities in Samarinda.
