Abstract

The function of exhibit in the criminal justice process is is very importantl, namely as a means of proof to substantiate the belief of the judge in examining and decide a case. Investigators as one of the law enforcement officer shall execute his responsibilities properly and in accordance with existing procedures. Police investigators have a responsibility towards the security and the integrity of the evidence. The purpose of this research was based on the formulation of a problem is to find out the responsibility of the police investigators against exhibit in Yogyakarta regional police and what sanctions are imposed for police investigators who use exhibits a criminal offense. This type of research is a kind of normative legal research. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that the police investigator a responsibility to care exhibit is to maintain the integrity of the exhibit obtained, by way of immediately leave the exhibit to the official the Official maintainer of the exhibits within 1 x 24 hours. If the police investigators do not carry out their responsibilities, then there will be the sanction given.
