Abstract

This research is about police efforts in handling violence against women in relationship dating in Yogyakarta. The background of this research is the act of violence against women not only in domestic violence btltalso in relaiienship dating, to perpetrators of violence. The problem statement is whether the efforts made by the police in the handling of violence against women in relationship dating and what is the rule of law used by the police in the handling ofviolence against women. This research using normative method. The result us is age ofthe victim to in oflaw used by the police at the level of investigation and countermeasures, if the mediation process does not find the word ofagreement, the judicial process can be done. The conclusion of this research is there are 3 (three) efforts made by DIYpolice that is pre-emptive, preventive and repressive effort as for rule of law used by DIYpolice based on age ofvictim which become benchmark in handling violence against woman in relationship dating.
