Abstract
The title of the legal writing is "police the police effort in tackling social conflicts between groups caused by criminal acts of murder ( case study of Timika-Papua district )." social conflicts that often occur due to the occurence of criminal acts of murder and people who are not aware of the law so want to take revenge with arbitrary. Primary and Secondary data are used in this legal writing. The data collected by interviews and analyzed qualitatively. Based in literatures and interview, the researches found that the police in tackling social conflicts are in accordance with applicable law but are still influenced by certain factors.
