Abstract

Seeing the recent data on forest damage in the territory of the Republic of Indonesia, it is necessary to enforce law in forest management, in this case the obligation to reforest this research aims to determine the implementation of the obligations of timber companies to reforest as an effort to control forest damage in Keerom Regency . Data analysis method that will be used in this research is qualitative analysis method. Qualitative analysis is an analysis that produces descriptive data, that is, what the respondent stated in writing, verbal and behavior, so that what is researched and studied is the object of legitimate research. Reforestation in protected forests is aimed at restoring the main functions as protection of life support systems to regulate water management, prevent flooding, control erosion, prevent sea water intrusion, and maintain soil fertility. The problem that ever happened is the unclear allocation allocation of this reforestation fund. Especially when funds are collected quite a lot, but absorption in reforestation programs and forest restoration is lacking. In addition, the lack of supervision from the government to forest concession holders (HPH) in order to follow the applicable regulations.
