Abstract

The criminal act of terrorism is classified an extraordinary crime, as the handling of the victims also need to be considered, which include in the matter of compensation rights for the victims cause by the act of terrorism. The purpose of this research is to determine the effectiveness of arrangements abaout providing compensation for the victim cause by the criminal acts of terrorism. The type of research that was used is normative study. The data that was used in this paper are the primary data which consist of legislation and the secondary data which consists of literature, journals, the internet, and a legal opinion obtained from the experts. At this time, the granting of compensation to the victims cause by the criminal act of terrorism carried out by witness and victim protection agencies. However, the compensation process is considered complicated because the current compensation inspection combained with the investigation on the cases of terrorist acts. Therefore to solve the problem, the government need to establish spesific regulation abaout providing compensation for victims cause by the criminal act of terrorism.
