Abstract

The waste of baggase ash coming from the process of producing sugar on sugar factories in Indonesia has not been efectivelly used. Due to the huge amount of baggase ash, it is required to be spesifically used it in order to get high economic values and not to make environmentally polluted area. One of the benefit to use baggase ash is to proceed it to be the pozzolan that is required as additive material of high strength concrete. To produce the baggase ash to be the pozzolan, it is required to make burning and refining equipment. The burning and refining equipment that had been created in the first year of the research are modified to make their performance better. Those modified equipment are, then used to produce the pozzolan of baggase ash taken from Madu Kismo Yogyakarta sugar factory. This research succeeds to modify the revolving part and the nicelin-wires of the burning equipment, so that the process of producing pozzolan could be effective and efficient. At the temperatur of 600° C and five-minute duration of burning process, it is obtained the best chemical content with 78.92% total amount of SiO,, Al,O;, and Fe €203. Po'get the high strength concrete, this research uses the ACI code. To make 0,005 m? igh*stréngth concrete is required : 30.40 kg of PC : 28.86 kg of sand : 52.53 kg of gravel and : 11.26 kg of water. The mixed-design succeeds to make the compressive strenght of concrete as high as 42 Mpa. Replacement a part of PC by baggase-ash- pozzolan is better compared to the substitution by sica-fume. The best composition is obtained by 15% substitution of pozzolan; however it is still required to revise the burning and refining equipment to make their performance better and more efficient. Furthermore, it should be made the industrial scale of equipment in order to get the real production.
