Abstract

Customer satisfaction is closely related to product quality, where consumers will be satisfied if the product used can meet their needs. Therefore, companies must provide products that meet standards in order to increase their customer satisfaction. In some cases, a rejected product can occur because there is a defect or damage that causes the company to prevent the product from reaching the consumer. This research aims to identify the factors that cause the rejected product, which is a problem that arises in the company. The main purpose of this research is to analyze the factors that cause the problem, determine the root cause of the problem, and propose solutions. Due to the absence of data on types of defects, this research will analyze in general using data on the number of rejected products. Analysis of rejected product and its causes by using Control Chart and Fishbone Diagram as one of the root cause analysis tools. The results of this research are factors determination that causes rejected products, which are material, man, machine, environment, and method added with each specific root cause. This research also proposes the application of SOPs in order to solve those problems and action plans suggestions that must be taken by the company to solve problems that cannot be solved only by the application of SOPs.
