Abstract

The role of the Regional Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAID) in overcoming criminal cases committed by children as victims of sexual abuse. Children are the next generation of the nation that needs special protection that is different from adults, it is because of physical and mental reasons for children who are not yet mature and not capable. Children are often subjected to violence such as abuse, harassment and sexual violence, one of them also being a victim of rape. Being a victim of rape causes a child to commit an abortion crime. One of the institutions authorized in efforts to protect children in Indonesia is the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI). The role of the Regional Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAID) is to provide assistance to children who are victims of acts of violence, especially for child victims of rape who commit abortion. The Regional Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAID) provides assistance, namely by providing advocacy, guarding the legal process carried out from the beginning of the report to the decision which has permanent legal force, until the child returns to the community to prevent future abortion. The purpose of writing this thesis is to find out how the role of the Regional Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAID) in dealing with abortions performed by child victims of rape are in accordance with applicable regulations. The method used is a normative research method, which is a research conducted or focusing on positive legal norms, using secondary data as the main data and primary data as support.
