Abstract

Batik Kidang Mas is a small medium enterprise company that produce exclusive batik cloth for any purposes. Currently Batik Kidang Mas has plethora of issues related to the quality of their packaging which several customers have complaint it all the time. The main role of the packaging in this case is protecting the goods and providing the sumptuous impression, so the customer would have the opinion that the product inside is luxurious. The packaging also contained dirt which produced by the broken incense inside, therefore customer complaint a lot that this must be repaired, so the product which would be saved on the wardrobe would always be clean. This research has a simple purpose which is repair the packaging based on the customer’s feeling. Therefore, the packaging would have to be developed based on the customer’s want and need using their emotion. Method used by the research to accomplish it is Kansei engineering to support the customer’s feeling. Then, the Orthogonal analysis was also used by the customer to question the customer’s opinion about the future packaging. This research simply will provide a new packaging to pack the product based on the customer’s preferences. The comparison of both prior and current packaging proved that not all the aspect of the packaging improved significantly, however the improved aspect with the P-value are sumptuous 0.000, secure 0.091, enticing 0.002, hygienic 0.000 and perennial 0.002.
