Abstract

The development of technology and information, specially for internet has made lot of positive effect for an example the door of freedom in creations and expressions is open widely. This development are not always bring positive effect but also negative, through this thing the more modern kind of criminal and antisocial also appears, one of them is illegal gambling through internet. The Police as government institution protection that has to keep this country as a safe and peace place also had a very important duty and must to keep away the gamble crime through internet. This thing made writers are more interest to know about the Police effort to stop this internet crime and their problem through this law writing or thesis with the title The Police effort in order to stop the act of crime through Internet Media. The method of research that has been used in this thesis is the analysis and qualitative method with a different kind of research as like normative and its sources of its data like secunder that’s stand with primer law, secunder law and also tersier law. According to the analysis that has been made in this research, the conclusion that could be written is the Police effort in order to stop the act of crime through Internet is Preventive or else held a socialization to the peoples, a cyber patrol, make a co-operation with the Ministre to block the gamble site. As a preventive the Police also made a repressive way just like make a team like cyber crime to spy, arrest,check and summon the evidence. In order to stop the online gambling through internet there are many kinds of problems that the police must faces just like cannot detect the owner of gambling online, don’t know where is the gambling place, cannot show and prove the evidences, the limitation of police man knowledge about this modern applications of technology and also less amount of people awareness about this crime.
