Abstract
Once the tourism area was introduced, Karst Area of Goa Pindul or Pindul Cave has become “commercially promoted” and being exploited to meet the desires of tourists. One of the well-known areas is Goa Pindul which meets high demand for visiting the karst area and therefore it triggers the rise on the number of tour operators. Karst Area Goa Pindul becomes a contested space by tour operators. The increased number of tour operators has led to a fierce competition in the service of cave tubing tourism and so the previous harmonious nuances have turned to be conflicting. Domination among tourism operators has created inequality or injustice in the community. This means the government should create the rules of the game in accordance with the ideal vision of the development of Karst Areas of Goa Pindul. This research was conducted using ethnographic research. Data was collected with in depth interviews, observation, and document study to find out how competition and dominance occur between tour operators. The results of this study to provide input to policy makers.
