Abstract
This legal research is entitled The Role of the Department of Manpower and Transmigration in the Special Region of Yogyakarta in the Prevention of Unemployment in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. Unemployment is a term for the labor force who does not work at all, is looking for work, is waiting for the next job project, or someone who is trying to get a decent job. Unemployment is generally caused by the number of labor force or job seekers not being proportional to the number of existing jobs that are able to absorb it. The purpose of this study is to determine the Role of the Department of Manpower and Transmigration in the Special Region of Yogyakarta in the Unemployment Countermeasure in the Province of Yogyakarta and To find out the obstacles faced by the Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration in the Special Region of Yogyakarta in Unemployment Mitigation in the Province of Yogyakarta. The legal research method used is a type of empirical legal research with descriptive qualitative data analysis methods. The results of the research on the Role of the Department of Manpower and Transmigration in the Special Region of Yogyakarta in Overcoming Unemployment in the Province of the Special Region of Yogyakartaa, it can be concluded that the Office of Manpower and Transmigration of Yogyakarta in overcoming unemployment in the Yogyakarta region is conducting a number of ways, namely conducting work standardization training which is carried out gradually in basic skills, doing internships by placing internships in national companies and doing internships abroad, holding work fairs involving universities in Yogyakarta that aim to facilitate access for job seekers who work with the work of the provider company, and provide labor market information through various media owned by the Department of Manpower and Transmigration both through the website, Instagram and Facebook. The obstacles faced by the Yogyakarta Province Department of Manpower and Transmigration in overcoming unemployment in the Yogyakarta region are the limited facilities and infrastructure, limited human resources, and the large discrepancy between the availability and skills needed for labor.
