Abstract
Mining activities in the area are increasing, especially at Sekotong, West Lombok. This mining activities cause environmental damage, such as creating a hole if it is not backfilled, also caused landslides and the worst part is utillization of hazardous chemicals. The purpose of writing this law thesis is to find out role of the Enviroment Service at control of environmental damage due to gold mining in West Lombok. The methodology used in this research is inductive reasoning. The results of the research showed that Enviroment Service have not implemented post mining activities at mining location because they does not have authority to do post mining activities at B mining.
