Abstract
The title of this legal research is the Potential for Legal Protection of Kalibening Avocado Based on Geographical Indications. The problem in this legal research is how the potential of the Kalibening avocado obtains protection based on Geographical Indications according Geographical Indications. The purpose of this legal research is to find out the potential of Kalibening avocados to obtain protection based on Geographical Indications according Geographical Indications. This legal research is an empirical research based on the results of interviews. The right to Geographical Indications is granted by the Directorate General of Intellectual Property through several stages of examination. Avocado Kalibening as a fruit that has characteristics and a good reputation and has the potential to be registered as an object of protection of geographical indications. Kalibening avocados that have the potential to be registered are expected to become local economic forces.
