Abstract

This study aims to identify the application of Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM) practices in SMEs in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. The object of this study is SMEs that have implemented GSCM practices. Sampling in this study using a purposive sampling technique and participants in this study amounted to 12 people consisting of SME owners or managers. Data collection is done by in-depth interviews, and data processing is done by grouping the results of interviews and produce an interview transcripts, from the interview transcripts then grouped in a summary of the application of GSCM practices in 3 main components of GSCM practices. The results of this study indicate that a number of SMEs have applied GSCM practices in their upstream, internal and downstream components, but some SMEs have not implemented GSCM practices as a whole because SMEs face various obstacles, including: Limited human and financial resources, Lack of ability, skills, and knowledge related to the environment, and a lack of awareness of the environmental impacts caused by their business.
