Abstract

The Department of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Province of East Kalimantan was formed based on the Governor's Regulation No. 68 of 2016 concerning the Organizational Structure, Tasks, Functions, and Work Procedures of the Department of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Province of East Kalimantan. the department of energy and mineral resources is the department that engages in energy and mineral resources. One of the tasks of the Department of Energy and Mineral Resources is to supervise the implementation of coal mining activities, which include reclamation and post-mining activities. This research is an empirical research law. Data obtained from sources in the field and study of literature by conducting interviews with respondents. This study aims to find out about the implementation of ESDM oversight of the reclamation and post-mining obligations by the coal mining company in East Kutai District, East Kalimantan Province and the factors that hamper the ESDM Agency in its supervision. The conclusion in this study is that the Supervision by the Department of Energy and Mineral Resources on the implementation of the reclamation and post-mining obligations has been done, but not yet optimal because there are still many obstacles encountered in its implementation and the authors suggest that the East Kalimantan Provincial Energy and Mineral Resources Office conduct routine and intensive supervision of mining activities.
