Abstract
The writing of this law is titled The Role of Madukismo Sugar Factory in Protecting the Air Environment in Bantul Regency. Air has a very important role in human life and the existence of other objects, so air is a natural resource that must be protected. Air pollution is defined as a decrease in air quality so the air quality has decreased in its use, which ultimately cannot be used again as it its function. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of the Madukismo Sugar Factory in protecting the air environment in Bantul Regency and to determine the obstacles and solutions faced by the Factory in implementing the air protection. The used method of the legal research was empirical with descriptive qualitative as the data analysis. The results of the study showed that were there were two types of air environmental protection conducted by Madukismo Sugar Factory, one was the air from emissions produced from the chimneys and the generators and the other was total environmental air from ambient.
