Abstract

This study entitled "Utilization of Geographical Indications of Tanah Karo Arabica Coffee by The Stakeholders of Geographical Indications in Karo Regency ''. This study aims to analyze how Karo farmers use geographical indications for Tanah Karo Arabica Coffee and to determine the role of the local government in optimizing the use of the geographical indications for the farmers. This study uses empirical legal research which focuses on primary data. The result of this study shows that the Karo farmers can trade Tanah Karo Arabica Coffee by using a Geographical Indication sign for trade purposes. It somehow will increase the economy of people in Tanah Karo. Furthermore, the role of the Karo Regency local government through the Karo District Agriculture is cultivating the farmers of Tanah Karo Arabica Coffee from coffee cultivation to post-harvest coffee processing so that it can grow well.
