Abstract

The title of this writing is Effectiveness of Bali Governor Regulation Number 97 Year 2018 concerning Reduction of Disposable Plastic Waste in Gianyar Regency. Waste management consists of reducing waste and handling waste. Waste reduction includes limiting waste appearance, recycling and reusing of waste. Waste, especially plastic waste, can cause environmental pollution and cause various diseases. It can also affect the aesthetics of the landscape and have the potential to interfere people's rights in enjoying a proper environment. Therefore, this regulations are formed to reduce the generation of disposable plastics in Bali Province. The purpose of this study is to determine the Effectiveness of the mplementation of the Bali Governor Regulation No. 97 of 2018 as an effort to reduce the amount of plastic-based waste in Gianyar Regency. The research method used is empirical with the data analysis method that is descriptive qualitative. The results of this research are the implementation of this governor's regulation which has been running well as seen from the amount of volume reduction in waste, the participation of providers in reducing disposable plastic products and the participation of the community to start changing the lifestyle of the habit of using disposable plastics eventhough there are still some problems in applying this regulation.
