Abstract

This research was motivated by the fact that clean water is gradually decreasing in availability. The purpose of this research is to determine the implementation of the authority of the Provincial Government in controlling the use of water resources by motorized vehicle washing services, as well as what obstacles are faced in its implementation. Therefore, the problem formulation taken by the author is how the implementation of the authority of the Provincial Government in controlling the use of water resources by motorized vehicle washing services in Depok District, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Province, as well as what obstacles are faced in its implementation. The analytical method used in this research is qualitative with the type of empirical legal research, where data is obtained from social facts which are carried out through direct observation and supported by interviews with the Yogyakarta Province Public Works, Housing and Energy Department of Mineral Resources. The conclusion of this research is that the implementation of the authority of the Provincial Government in controlling the use of water resources used by motorized vehicle washing services is appropriate, but not optimal. This is because the government has not issued implementing regulations regarding the latest Water Resources Law, lack of professionalism, level of awareness and public ignorance.
