Abstract

Health is a fundamental human right for humans and is strictly regulated in the constitution. Everyone has the right to live healthily and to receive health services. Hospital is an institution that provides health services for the community. Hospitals can be public hospitals managed by the government and private hospitals managed by private legal entities. The hospital is providing its services to the community is not always okay but also experiences several obstacles such as the presence of a patient without a family in an emergency. This study is entitled "A Legal Review of the Role of Hospitals Related to Approval of Medical Actions in Emergency Patients Without Families". The purpose of this study was to determine the legal review of the role of the hospital in seeking approval for medical action in emergency patients who do not have families or can be categorized as neglected patients. The research method used is normative legal research. The result of this study is that the hospital must an obligation to treat neglected patients even though it is not accompanied by the consent of the patient's family. Doctors can perform medical actions on patients without families with the permission of the hospital director who is responsible for all risks arising from the medical action.
