Abstract

Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing is an ongoing problem in financial institution sector, especially in banks as one of the most common media to do money transaction. As per 2014 through 2016 about 108 cases of financial crime has happened in Indonesia including in Bank Mandiri Imam Bonjol Batam. In order to solve this problem financial service authority has published Financial Service Authority Law No. 12/POJK.01/2017 Regarding the Implementation of Anti Money Laundering and Terrorists Financing Prevention Program at the Financial Service Sector which includes Costumer Due Diligence as its main weapon to counter money laundering and terrorist financing. The objective of this paper is to understand how Costumer Due Diligence is implemented in Bank Mandiri Imam Bonjol Batam .This paper is an empirical research which uses primer data that is collected through a field research and secondary data using literature study. The result of this paper are Costumer Due Diligence generally has been well implemented, however there is still some important points and some tasks that are left out by the anti money laundering division, the juridical hindrance are regarding the internall supervision which lacks strong force of law and is not being implemented well and the external report to OJK lacks comprehensive mechanism, which made the main objective of Costumer Due Diligence cannot be reached.
