Abstract

The title of this law study is The application of Selective and Limitative Principles in Conviction in Order to Reduce the Capacity of Correctional Institutions. The purpose of this paper, Is to reduce the capacity of prisons by applying selective and limitative principles so as to prevent the inflorescence that occurs in prisons. One of the problems with the occurrence of fullness in prisons because of the increase in crime as a result of the criminal system has an impact on the density of prisoners in prisons. Therefore, an effort is needed to reduce prisoners in correctional institutions in Indonesia. Therefore, an effort is needed to reduce prisoners in correctional institutions in Indonesia, Empirical Method and focuses on the applicable rules, with the legal basis used Law Number 4 of 2004 concerning Judicial Power.
