Abstract

The division of Simalungun Batak Customary Law Inheritance in the Regency uses the tolu sahundulan Principle which is a philosophy owned by the Simalungun people, which plays a role in all forms of community customs. Tolu Sahundulan is also one of the Simalungun cultures that can bring people into the division of labor. The research objective was to know the rights of girls as heirs based on the Sahundulan Tolu Principles for the Batak Simalungun Community in the Brand District, Karo Regency. This type of research is normative legal research. In every activity carried out by the community and individuals, there is always a division of labor which has been well regulated by the Tolu Sahundulan culture. Tolu Sahundulan divides the Simalungun people into three positions, namely, Tondong, Sanina and Boru. These three positions have their respective functions which have been arranged into a division of labor for the community.
