Abstract

The title of this thesis is "The Protection of Indonesian Informal Labour Women Who Become the Victims of Inhuman Treatment in Malaysia". The problem is how far the protection should be done by the Government of Republic Indonesia through the Diplomatic and Consular Representatives in Malaysia. The research method was used in this research is normative research. Based on Act Number 1, 1982 related with the ratification of the Republic Indonesia for Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relation and Consular Relation; The Act Number 5, 1998 related with The Ratification of The Convention Against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment; The Act Number 37, 1999 related with International Relationship and the principle of equality before the law, The Government of Republic Indonesia has responsibility for protecting Indonesia citizenship, including the informal labour women in Malaysia. It is very important, particularly there are some cases related with the inhuman treatment or cruel to some informal labour women from Indonesia in Malaysia. Unfortunately, The Government of Indonesia has not been yet made ratification for The International Convention on The Protection of The Rights of All Migrant Workers and Member of The Families, 1990 yet. Based on this Convention, every State Party can give a maximum protection to the labours who work in abroad.
