Abstract

ABSTRACT Title of this law writing is "law enforcement by police against suspected perpetrators of murder at the time of social conflict (case study: social conflict in timika county, Papua)." The problem considered in the writing is how the police play the role of the suspected perpetrator of the murder at the time of social conflict. The research method used in this writing. that is, empirical research. This research was conducted directly on respondents to obtain primary data supported by secondary data consisting of primary legal materials, secondary legal materials and tertiary legal materials. Data collection involved literature study and interviews at the Mimika Police Station, which were then analyzed using qualitative descriptive methods. Based on research and discussion, it is known that there are several efforts made by the police to follow up on suspects who commit murders during social conflicts. The first, as police work protects against both the social conflicts and the criminal killings, the second, if there is a murder at the time of a social conflict, the police will collect evidence and evidence to identify both the perpetrator and the victim, Then the last police effort would make law enforcement efforts according to the established regulations of the law, the arrest, inquiry and inquiry to the administration of the case to the prosecutor.
