Abstract

This research is about police efforts in handling violence against women in relationship dating in Yogyakarta. The background of this research is the act of violence against women not only in domestic violence but also in relationship dating, to conduct investigation and handling of perpetrators of violence. The problem statement is whether the efforts made by the police in the handling of violence against women in relationship dating and what is the nile of law used by the police in the handling of violence against women. This research using normative method. The result of this research shows us that is the age of the victim to be considered in the nile of Jaw used by the police at the level of investigation and ountermeasures, if the mediation process does not find the word of agreement, thejudicial process can be done. The conclusion of this research is there are 3 (three) efforts made by DIY police that is pre-emptive, preventive and repressive effort asfor rule of law used by DIY police based on age of victim which become benchmark in handling violence against woman in relationship dating.
