Abstract
Medical waste is the residue from a medical business or activity at a health service facility in the form of solid, liquid, or gas classified as hazardous and toxic materials whose presence can pollute or damage the environment and/or endanger human health and survival. is the entry of pollutant materials into the natural environment that can cause changes that damage the environment. This study aims to determine the medical waste management carried out at Charitas Hospital Klepu and to find out the legal provisions that apply to the implementation of waste management at Charitas Hospital Klepu. Based on the results of the study, the waste management has been going well, because it is equipped with wastewater treatment buildings in the form of sedimentation tanks, sedimentation tanks, anaerobic filter tanks, horizontal filter tanks, outflow pits, chlorination tanks, water test tanks, and sludge pipe installations. and sludge deposition. waste management in the hospital is also based on the provisions of the applicable legislation, because it has succeeded in reducing or controlling environmental pollution with respect to the impact of waste generated from activities in the hospital. The implementation of waste management at Charitas Hospital Klepu has been good. Charitas Hospital Klepu needs to increase the frequency of inspections on the quality of water used for hospital activities, and provide education on the impact of environmental pollution and the importance of awareness of environmental hygiene.
