Abstract

Tofu is a product made from the clumping of soy protein. In trade, there are 2 types of tofu, namely ordinary tofu and Chinese tofu. Tofu is a popular food because it contains good and healthy nutrition. Tofu processing industry is usually carried out by home industries. The tofu industry in addition to providing welfare benefits also has the potential to cause water pollution due to tofu waste. The problem in this study is how to control river water pollution due to tofu industrial activities in Jurang Village, Temanggung Regency. In this tofu industrial waste there is liquid waste and solid waste, liquid waste which is a waste from the tofu-making process which is processed anaerobically (biogas) if discharged directly into the river will not pollute the surrounding environment, and while this solid waste is tofu dregs, which can be made into tempe gembus and animal feed. The conclusion in this study is the control of pollution and/or environmental damage due to the tofu industry which has not been carried out properly and the authors suggest that the authorities need to conduct counseling and supervision and encourage business actors to make WWTPs individually or communally as well as to facilitate the tofu industry players. to dispose of industrial waste to the WWTP so as not to pollute the environment around the tofu industry.
