Abstract

Digital literacy has not been popular in the academic world of Timor-Leste. This quantitative research with survey method aimed to measure the level of digital literacy skills of university students in TimorLeste, finding out different level of digital literacy based on gender, type of university and duration of internet access. This descriptive quantitate method uses purposive sampling data collection technique. The samples that are used in this research are university students in Timor-Leste at the age ranging between 17-24 years old that have been studying in Dili. The measurement of the level of digital literacy in this research adopts the ten (10) digital literacy competencies published by Jaringan Pegiat Literasi Digital (JAPELIDI). The result of this research found that between 398 respondents, 175 or 44% are classified in the level four (4) or above the average. In addition to that, there were no variation in the level of digital literacy based on gender, type of universities and duration of internet access among the students.
