Abstract

Trade is one of the activities that can support the country's economy. Trade activities are also carried out abroad. This activity is also known as export and import. One of the prohibited import activities in Indonesia is the import of used clothing. Regarding this, there is already a regulation that regulates it, namely the Minister of Trade Regulation Number 51/2015. However, the regulation has been revoked and declared invalid, this creates a collision for the apparel industry. Therefore, it is necessary to know the juridical consequences of the repeal of the regulation and the government's policy to support the apparel industry. This legal research uses normative legal research methods that focus on legal norms and regulations. The result of this legal research is that the regulations regarding the prohibition on the import of used clothing still exist and only the regulations have been changed. There is efficiency in regulations regarding exports and imports. The import of clothing remains prohibited at all times. This is regulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Trade Number 18/2021 which mentions used clothing as one of the types of goods that are prohibited from being imported. The regulations is still apply but this activity is still happening, it is necessary to supervise and take action in the circulation of illegal goods in the community.
