Abstract

Sleman Regency is a tourist spot that is visited by many domestic and foreign tourists. The number of tourists encourages the need for accommodation, namely hotels. This makes hotel construction continues to increase every year in Sleman Regency. The increasing number of hotels in Sleman Regency has resulted in increasing environmental problems, especially liquid waste pollution. This study aims to determine the role of hotel liquid waste management as an effort to prevent environmental pollution in Sleman Regency. This study uses an empirical method that focuses on facts on the ground; The data used is primary data which is supported by secondary data. The data obtained from the respondents were analyzed qualitatively. This study concludes that Eastparc Hotel uses chemical and biological wastewater treatment technology, namely Rotating Biological Contactor (RBC). This technology is an efficient treatment technology that decomposes pollutants. In addition, Eastparc Hotel also routinely conducts wastewater quality testing every month. This is done as an effort to protect the environment, especially the river ecosystem around the hotel. In addition to waste water, Eastparc Hotel also manages organic, inorganic and B3 solid waste.
