Abstract
The title of this research is Legal Aspects Of Coal Waste Management Steam Power Plant (PLTU) As Pollution Prevention Effort In Merdeka District, Karo Regency(Case Study Of Pltu Kecamatan Merdeka), Coal PLTU in merdeka subdistrict, karo district produces waste that can have a negative impact on the surrounding environment. The waste must be managed in a certain way in order to prevent pollution. Therefore, it is important to investigate whether the coalfired power plant waste treatment has succeeded in preventing pollution. The purpose of this study was to determine the management of coal waste from PLTU as an effort to prevent pollution in Merdeka District, Karo Regency and to find out the obstacles to managing coal waste from PLTU. This writing uses an empirical writing method that focuses on regulations regarding the prevention of environmental pollution compared to its application at the research site. The conclusion of this study is the Prevention of Environmental Pollution of the Coal Power Plant in Merdeka District and the Karo District Environmental Service. Pollution prevention is carried out in the prevention stage through the installation of CEMS as a sensor instrument that can determine the amount of emissions discharged into the air. The CEMS process will produce a report which will later become information for the Ministry of Environment and Forestry through the Continuous Emissions Monitoring Information System (SIPTEK).
