Abstract
Mining is an activity which contributes large income for our country, included tin mining. However, tin mining brings along negative impact to the environment. One of the negative impact of tin mining occurs at Daeng River in West Bangka Regency. Based on the phenomenon at Daeng River, the researcher conducted a research to investigate the aspect of law which gives protection to Daeng River. This research was conducted by field research, where the researcher obtained the data through observation, interview, and supported by literary research. The researcher interviewed Department of Mining of West Bangka Regency and related respondents. The researcher also conducted literary research by gaining data from related regulation of mining. The aim of the research is investigating whether there is a law protection for Daeng River. The result of research is that the West Bangka Regency Government have not given protection to Daeng River.
