Abstract

Waste management is an activity that includes reduction, storage, collection, packaging, utilization, processing, and/or stockpiling. Hazardous material waste are substance, energy, and/or other components which due to their nature, concentration and/ot amount, either directly or indirectly, can pollute and/or endanger the environment, and life sustaunebility of human and other living things. The hospital is one of the health service facilities for the community. Every hospital must produce waste that can result in environmental pollution. Environmental pollution is the entry ofpollutants into the environment that can pollute the environment. This study aims to find out the legal aspects of cytotoxic type B3 waste management by Awal Bros Pekanbaru Hospital and what obstacles hospitals face in the implementation of cytotoxic type B3 waste management. Based on research, the management of cytotoxic type B3 waste has been running well. And it is in accordance with the Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 22 of 202 1. This is evidenced by the existence of a temporary storage area to collect waste behind the hospital. Every two times a day it is transported by the trasporter party to be taken to the final processing, namely PT. Wastex, PT. Adi Karya, and PT. Universal Eco Pacific. The obstacles faced in B3 waste management are cleaners who are still negligent in managing waste, the availability of temporary storage places, hospitals have difficulty managing environmental permits to become AMDAL.
