Abstract

The history of Indonesia is inseparable from the history of the development of religion. The presence of colonialism left an important reality that was so successful in the Dutch East Indies. The spread of the Gospel or Christianization was "a pretty sweet fruit" and was successful in several places. This process has a major influence in shaping the character and even the identity of a region. A cultural heritage building should not be arbitrarily adapted as properly regulated in Article 29 of Law No. 11 of 2010 concerning Cultural Conservation. The definition of Adaptation in Article 1 point 32 of Law Number 11 of 2010 concerning Cultural Conservation is an effort to develop Cultural Conservation for activities that are more in line with today's needs by making limited changes which will not result in a decline in its importance or damage to parts that have important values b) Private green open space is a green open space owned and managed by the private sector/community, including in the form of gardens or courtyards of houses/buildings owned by the community/private which are planted with plants. According to Minister of Public Works Regulation no.12 of 2009 Private Open Spaces consist of Green Open Spaces (RTH) and Non-Green Open Spaces (RTNH): This type of research is normative legal research, namely research conducted or focusing on positive legal norms by studying regulations legislation related to the problem to be examined Based on the results of the research, it is concluded that the Pugeran Church of the Sacred Heart of the Lord Jesus is a Cultural Heritage Building (Decree of the Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia Number: PM.89/PW.007/MKP/2011 dated 17th october 2011) While the Pastoral Building which is located to the north of the Pugeran Church of the Sacred Heart of the Lord Jesus is included in the Cultural Heritage category. The Pastoral Building and the Sacred Heart of Jesus Pugeran Church Complex in Yogyakarta are a unified building and cultural meaning as a Cultural Heritage, so it needs to be maintained and preserved so that the Pastoral Building must be maintained as before and adaptation developments around the Sacred Heart Church of the Lord Jesus complex must be in accordance with and go hand in hand with the Cultural Heritage Preservation Center of the Special Region of Yogyakarta and the Yogyakarta City Investment and Licensing Service. Based on the results of the conclusions above, the authors provide the following suggestions: The Sacred Heart Church of the Lord Jesus Pugeran Before starting construction and demolition it would be better to comply with the recommendations from the Yogyakarta Special Region Cultural Heritage Center and the Yogyakarta City Licensing and Investment Service. As well as the Yogyakarta Special Region Cultural Heritage Preservation Center
