Abstract

The environment is a gift from the Creator, namely God Almighty to all of His creatures, whether humans, animals or plants, so that this environment must be protected and maintained as a form of gratitude to God. One way to protect and protect the environment is to have an Environmental Impact Statement for every activity and business that has a significant impact on the environment, for example the textile industry. Environmental Impact Statement is an instrument for preventing environmental pollution. The problem in this research is what is the role of Environmental Impact Statement in supporting efforts to prevent environmental pollution due to textile industry wastewater and what are the obstacles and obstacles faced by PT. Samitex in processing textile industry wastewater as an effort to prevent environmental pollution in Bantul Regency. This research is an empirical legal research, so data is obtained through literature, case studies, and interviews. The results of the research and conclusions from this thesis are that the Environmental Impact Statement of PT. Samitex Sewon Yogyakarta plays an important role in supporting efforts to prevent environmental pollution due to textile industry wastewater in Bantul Regency. However, there are still internal obstacles that arise, namely technical problems and problems in the operation of factory machines so that the application of PT. Samitex Sewon Yogyakarta has not been fully implemented properly. The suggestion is PT. Samitex Sewon Yogyakarta must immediately repair factory machines that have experienced a decline in quality so that these factory machines can be used again and provide maximum results.
