Abstract

The title of this research is The Violation Against the Privacy Right in the Mass Media. The role of the Mass Media should develop the positive attitude of human person and the development of technology should give much opportunity for everyone. But in reality, it causes the contrary, negative consequences for the people. One of the negative consequences is the television’s programme, which against the regulation; include the attitude against the privacy rights. Many people are ignore to resolve this problem in the juridical point of view, if there are violations against the privacy rights made by the Mass Media. These facts are capable to cause the catastrophic situations in the society. So to build the society more harmonies and peaceful, without the violations of human rights, the citizen must promote the dignity of human person and the value of humanity. This research observes with empirical method, what and how the juridical regulation establishes, if there are such violations and how to resolve its problems. Firstly, to apply the regulation on the press and the code of conduct on journalism; secondly, to use the normal process, that is through the Indonesian panel process law. This research hopes that all the people, including the Mass Media respect the privacy right, so has function not provoke the disorder, but to promote the harmony and peace for all the Indonesian people.
