Abstract

Problems regarding environmental pollution in tourism areas are often found, one of which is in the Sanur Beach area. Environmental pollution that occurs can certainly damage the environment. Therefore, a study of the legal aspects of waste management is needed as an effort to control environmental pollution. This study aims to find out how waste management as upaya pengendalian pencemaran due to tourism activities in Sanur Beach, Denpasar City. This research is a type of empirical legal research that focuses on social facts. The data used in this study are primary data obtained from speakers and respondents supported by secondary data, which is then analyzed qualitatively. The results of this study show that efforts to control environmental pollution in the Sanur Beach area are through a waste bank system, where the initial stage of waste is sorted into organic waste and inorganic waste, then transported by and taken to TPS 3R which is then used as compost through biopore pits which later the compost fertilizer is sent to the landfill. Perpetrators of indiscriminate garbage disposal are subject to sanctions, namely being threatened with a maximum of 6 (six) months of confinement or a maximum fine of Rp. 50,000,000 (fifty million rupiah). Obstacles in controlling environmental pollution are the lack of public awareness and a sense of empathy for the importance of preserving the environment, so that there are still several landfills that cause environmental pollution, which are then overcome by supervising and implementing SIDARLING and DENPASAR SNOWY innovations.
