Abstract

Surakarta City is a city located in Central Java which has a unique history and philosophy. However, despite the unique philosophy and history of the City of Surakarta, recently this city has the issue of increasing waste volume growth. reported from surakarta. suara.com that in their news title "The Volume of Garbage in the City of Surakarta Increases 11 Percent per Day, DLH Calls It Due to Changes in People's Lifestyle Factors". This is very concerning, even though it should be remembered that the city of Surakarta has received the Adipura award, which as it is known that Adipura is an award given to cities in Indonesia that can succeed in maintaining cleanliness and also environmental sustainability. In the city of Surakarta, piles of garbage that have piled up are a challenge in itself for the Government of the city of Surakarta. there has been a spike in the volume of daily waste in the city of Surakarta which has touched 27.67 percent per day during the 2021 Fasting Month compared to normal days. This resulted in the condition of the Putri Cempo Final Disposal Site (TPA) in Mojosongo, Jebres, Surakarta, being over capacity. The increasing amount of waste is not spared from the consequences of increasing public consumption, because instead of making their own food or drinks, many people choose to buy food or drinks from outside. Without exception is the waste that is in the market, especially in this case the legi market, because in the legi market itself there are various kinds of traders who have different characteristics in terms of awareness of environmental pollution as a result of waste.
