Abstract
This research is entitled Prevention by the Environmental Agency in Controlling environmental Pollution due to littering into the Batang Tembesi River Based on Regional Regulation of Sarolangun Regency No. 5 of 2010 concerning Waste Management. This research aims to find out the prevention of the Environmental agency in controlling environmental pollution due to littering into the Batang Tembesi River and to find out the problem and solutions carried out by the Environmental agency in controlling environmental pollution due to littering into the Batang Tembesi River. Writing of this law is empirical law research, data obtained through interviews with Mrs. Ira Julia Sinaga, S.P., and 5 people who live around the Batang Tembesi River and through literature studies from related journals. The data obtained were analyzed qualitatively and then conclusions were drawn using inductive thinking methods. The result of this research is that the prevention carried out by the Sarolangun Regency Environmental agency in controlling environmental pollution due to littering in the Batang Tembesi River has not run optimally. The obstacles faced are the lack of public awareness about littering and limited funds for prevention. The solution taken is not to stop taking prevention by making a pamphlets prohibiting littering, outreach about the impact of littering, monitoring water quality, and planting trees on the riverbanks of the Batang Tembesi River.
