Abstract

In the context of a city, infrastructure is needed to distribute the existing resources. Various kinds of development and growth in an urban area cannot be separated from infrastructure problems. One of them is the problem of drainage. The purpose of this study was to find out the utilization of the drainage system based the Sleman Regency Regional Regulation Number 13 of 2021 concerning the Sleman Regency Spatial Plan for 2021–2041. The Sleman Regency Spatial Plan is a reference document in implementing spatial planning activities along with existing resources in in accordance with its designation to create a safe, comfortable, productive and sustainable area. This type of legal research uses empirical research methods because there is a gap between the applicable legal rules and social facts that occur in society. The results of this legal research indicate that the utilization of the drainage on the south side of the Godean Km 4 –4,5 road section in Patran Hamlet, Banyuraden Village, and Gamping District is not in accordance with the Sleman Regency Spatial Plan, Sleman Regency. This is due to the lack of public understanding of the rules for drainage channels and the lack of attention from the government to maintaining problematic drainage channels.
