Abstract

Hospitals activities that are required to have UKL-UPL, the criteria are a land area of under 5 hectares or a building area of under 10.000m2. RSA UGM was built on a land area of 44,637m2 and a total building area of 9,282.5 m2. RSA UGM should have UKL-UPL. The author takes the formulation of the problem, namely how to implement UKL-UPL as an effort to protect and manage the environment at the UGM Academic Hospital and what are the obstacles and solutions. This type of research is empirical legal research. The results of the research show that the implementation of UKL-UPL as an effort to protect and manage the environment at RSA UGM is in accordance with the provisionsgoverning the obligation for business actors to have UKL-UPL, but inimplementing the UKL-UPL there is environmental management that still needs tobe improved, such as management RSA UGM WWTP, because RSA UGM WWTP has experienced disturbances or is not functioning properly, so the waste is channeled into the surrounding environment, so this has the potential to pollutethe environment around UGM RSA and the obstacle experienced by UGM RSA is the lack of manpower in technical management waste at RSA UGM. The solution to the obstacles is that the DLH of Sleman Regency and RSA UGM will add personnel to focus on monitoring and supervising waste management in both the working areas of DLH Sleman Regency and RSA UGM.
