Abstract

This thesis aims to analyze the legal protection provided to children in the context of physical violence by parents in the city of Yogyakarta. Through a normative legal research approach, the author examines the legal framework related to child protection, including Law Number 23 of 2002 on Child Protection and Law Number 35 of 2014 amending Law Number 23 of 2002 on Child Protection. This study identifies the rights of children related to protection from physical violence and analyzes the protection efforts carried out by relevant institutions, such as the Regional Commission for Child Protection and the Special Region of Yogyakarta Foundation for Child Protection. The research findings indicate that despite clear legal frameworks, the implementation of child protection from physical violence by parents still faces challenges. Factors such as lack of public awareness, insufficient human resources, and issues in law enforcement pose obstacles to providing effective protection for children who are victims.
