Abstract

Technological advances in the era of globalization, people tend to prefer instant things. Especially regarding the delivery of goods related to regional affordability. Delivery services can be a solution for those who like convenience and practicality in shipping goods. The way to collect data in this study is to use library research by studying primary legal materials such as legislation and secondary legal materials such as books, journals, newspapers, legal dictionaries and non-legal dictionaries, the internet, and legal facts related to consumer protection, delays and damage to goods in delivery services and electronic trading. In addition, delivery services are also considered very effective and efficient. The principle of responsibility is a very important matter in consumer protection law. In cases of consumer rights violations, careful analysis is needed in analyzing who is responsible and how far the responsibility can be assigned to the parties involved. Legal protection for consumers who experience losses due to delays and damage to goods, based on Article 4 of Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection, there are protected consumer rights, namely the right to have their opinions and complaints heard about the goods and/or services used, the right to obtain consumer protection and the right to obtain compensation, compensation and/or reimbursement, if the goods and/or services received are not in accordance with the agreement or not as they should be. Judging from article 7 letter g of Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection, companies providing expedition services can be asked for compensation, compensation and/or reimbursement.
