Abstract

This research is entitled Legal Aspects The Participation of Shodaqoh Sampah and Migunani Waste Bank In Protecting The Evnvironment Through Waste Management In Sedayu District, Bantul Regency. This study describes and examines (1) What is the role of the community in waste management as an effort to preserve the environment in Sedayu District? and (2) What are the obstacles to community especially Shodaqoh Sampah and Migunani Waste Bank participation in waste management in Sedayu District? This research was conducted in Sedayu District, Bantul Regency, is an empirical legal research. Data collection techniques were carried out directly from sources and respondents through interviews and literature studies. The results of this study are the participation of the community especially Shodaqoh Sampah and Migunani Waste Bank in Sedayu District in waste management is considered to be less than optimal but in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. It's just that public awareness of the importance of waste management can be said to be still lacking. Obstacles encountered in this research are competition with the private sector and lack of support for waste management activities, thus hindering the progress of activities.
